It’s all quite a nightmare, and due to the disputes between the two companies, The Sinking City for Xbox Series X|S consoles - now published by Frogwares directly - consumers are literally paying the price because the upgrade cannot be offered freely. The game was originally published on Xbox One by Nacon, which according to developer Frogwares, attempted to claim copyright of The Sinking City after it was released, withheld milestone payments, and owed Frogwares royalties equating to around €1 million. Reed’s story is pretty fitting for the game’s developer Frogwares (thanks, Eurogamer), which has been in legal disputes for quite a while with The Sinking City’s previous publisher, Nacon (formerly, Bigben Interactive).
